60 Day Challenge
How To Avoid Diet-Related Surgery
Apr 12th
On March 22, 2010 we posted a story about the dangers of lap band surgery.
Specifically, Belgian researchers found that as many as half their patients, followed for at least 12 years, needed to have the band removed in that period. And in more than a quarter, the band had gnawed its way through the wall of the stomach!
That story struck chord with one of our readers who was all too familiar with the possibility of having this kind of surgery:
On December 20, 2010 I weighed 323 lbs. My family doctor said, “your insurance company would rather pay for lap band surgery than a by pass surgery.” I decided at that moment that the Hallelujah Diet was my way to avoid these surgeries.
I took the “60 Days to Reclaim Your Health” challenge. Thank you for inviting me into your home! It has been 108 days and going strong!!!
I have lost 90 pounds and reduced some blood pressure medicines. I feel great and can’t thank you enough!
M.R. Siegel
We were so excited to receive this testimony that we just HAD to share it with you! This person is living proof that changing one’s diet really is a valid way to avoid diet-related surgery.
It just goes to show that you DO have a choice other than what you may be offered in a medical office. If you’re in a situation where your weight has taken over your life, remember that food is not the enemy — bad food choices are.
We can show you how to make better choices and get back to living the life you want. Click here to start now – it’s FREE!
Oprah’s Staff Can Do It… But You Can Do Better
Feb 3rd
Earlier this week, the plant-based message we promote at Hallelujah Acres received a huge boost from Oprah herself. Oprah and more than 300 of her staff members did a “vegan challenge.”
Though they only did it for a week, many of them expressed that switching to a 100% plant-based diet made them feel better and have more energy — which is a huge testament to the power of God’s original diet. (Imagine the impact those people could experience if they did our 60 Days to Reclaim Your Health challenge!)
Oprah had a few experts on the show that were explaining how to transition from meat-based, sugar-dessert diets to a plant-based diet. That was great! The more people who discover the benefits of foods on The Hallelujah Diet, the better. But we were a little disappointed at all the packaged foods they suggested.
Though all the packaged foods were vegan, they were, in many cases, over seasoned, contained additives, and still had a good dose of sugar. These types of food may be fine for those going vegan for animal rights reasons, but if you’re looking to improve your health in the long run, the mostly raw, whole foods on The Hallelujah Diet are a better choice.
It doesn’t take much to make a version of any vegan packaged food. For cereal, don’t buy the box, just soak a few grains overnight and add some fruit in the morning. For milk, start with store bought almond or rice milk, then transition to making it yourself at home with just 2 or 3 ingredients. You can even make vegan sausage using just a few simple ingredients and a juicer.
We’re encouraged to see big time names like Oprah and Dr. Oz starting to lean toward The Hallelujah Diet message. Just remember to read between the lines of their message and make your own (often better) choices based on raw, unprocessed foods.
Report: Healthy Lifestyle Is Best Stroke Prevention
Dec 7th
Well this piece of news is certainly a breath of fresh air. Dr. Larry B. Goldstein, director of the Duke Stroke Center in Durham, North Carolina has officially declared that a healthy lifestyle including a diet rich in fruits and vegetables has the biggest impact on preventing stroke.
“There is nothing we are going to do in medicine to beat that,” he said.
Dr. Goldstein’s findings are presented in a new set of stroke prevention guidelines released on Thursday, December 2, 2010. In addition to diet, a “healthy lifestyle” was defined as not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising and keeping cholesterol and blood pressure low.
“People need to take charge of their own lives,”Goldstein says. “The best way to treat a stroke is never to have one.”
Taking charge of your life (and health) is what The Hallelujah Diet is all about. But taking charge doesn’t mean you have to go it alone. In fact, we want to be right there with you.
We (Paul and Ann) can virtually take you by the hand for 60 days to teach you all about how to live a healthy lifestyle in our FREE, internet video-based 60 Days to Reclaim Your Health program. If you’ve never checked it out, we invite you to visit 60DayJuiceUp.com and sign up — it will literally change your life for the better!
Make Life Simpler With A Salad Box
Nov 3rd
When you come home from work the last thing you want to do is chop up a bunch of veggies for a salad. We feel the same way, which is why we invented “The Salad Box.”
The salad box is a simple concept we created so that we could have pre-cleaned, pre-cut veggies ready to go whenever we wanted – and it’s all in one handy box that fits in our refrigerator. It brings the convenience of a salad bar into your own home! You know everything is fresh and cleaned… because you did it!
All you have to do is get a large, clear, plastic under-the-bed style storage box and several smaller boxes to fit inside. All your veggies will fit into the smaller boxes, one type of veggie per box. Put them all in the larger box and you have a mini salad bar ready to go in your own refrigerator.
We searched high and low for boxes that would fit inside an average refrigerator. The best, large box can be found at Target stores, and the little boxes that go inside are available at Walmart. Watch our salad box video for details.
Here’s how it works. Simply buy 4-5 days’ worth of veggies, seeds, nuts, water chestnuts or anything you’d normally put in salads, stir frys, or pita wraps. Designate an hour on one evening to wash and prepare all the ingredients and put them in the smaller boxes within the large salad box and you’ll have everything ready to go whenever you wish for several days and even up to an entire week!
The salad box saves a lot of time and makes dinner prep a lot less stressful. Watch part 1 and part 2 of our salad box videos for all the details! We also demonstrate this concept during our 60 Days to Reclaim Your Health program.

Reclaim Your Health Day 3 Comments
May 20th
We received many wonderful comments today. Below are just a sampling:
Delee wrote “I was so excited about the Barley Green Smoothie. Just wanted you to know that my bananas stayed bright and yellow and frozen…never thought that was gonna work. I didn’t have fresh parsley, so I used Cilantro as a substitute and it was yummie”
Heather in Utah says “Thanks so much for this opportunity! I’ve read all the Hallelujah Acres information for years…..but sadly have been unable to implement it fully. I’m so excited to daily take these ‘baby steps’ each day for the betterment of my health and life.”
Maria comments “I can’t wait to put my veggie box together….even my sister who is disable and can’t use a knife will be able to make a salad before I get home from work…”
From Diane, I love your way of taking barley max with apple juice. My Daughter (11) used to never take barley max but then she tried the barley max with apple juice. And now she loves it and takes it every day!! And now she’s a lot more active and eating less!! I just love it!! So thank you for the idea!!
Nancy writes — “Already I’ve been 2 days without sugar of any kind except for my fruit.” Way to go Nancy!!!
And finally today from Kari “The veggie box is such a good idea. My husband and daughter will feel like they are going to a salad bar and will get them eating more salads in a fun way!! Thank you!”
We love reading all of your emails so keep them coming. Continue to ask questions and share your successes.

Salad Box
May 20th
Many have commented about what a wonderful idea the salad box is for helping them make wise choices with added convenience. The question has been asked though about the protection of the nutrients if the salad ingredients are cut or chopped then stored for days in the refrigerator.
There is some nutrient loss when we store cut vegetables for an extended period of time. According to the FDA, about half the nutrition is lost after storing for a week or two. This would depend on the type of veggie, how it is stored, and how small it is sliced or chopped. The smaller things are cut the greater likelihood of nutrient loss.
Many people don’t eat as many vegetables as they should because they simply don’t have the time or discipline to clean and prepare fresh veggies for each meal so the salad box helps keep these people from making bad choices and it allows them to add more whole foods into their diets.
Remember, it takes several days for the vegetables to lose significant nutritional value and you are using them each day while they are still fresh. Also, the salad box is not the only place we get our nutrition. We’re drinking BarleyMax and carrot (and/or green) juice too.
Bottom line — If you don’t have time to wash and prepare veggies fresh every day then give the salad box a try and see if it works for you and your family.
